Capalino Insider: Q&A with Tim Kucha, Director of Real Estate Services

What do you specialize in at Capalino?

As a licensed real estate broker with over 20 years’ experience, I provide real estate strategies and brokerage services to Capalino’s clients. I also represent tenants and landlords in lease negotiations and help identify purchase opportunities for investors.

What is your favorite place in NYC, and why?

Central Park. Every time I visit the park, I see something new.  I really enjoy going for a jog around the reservoir or the big loop, or just people watch.

Who is your hero?

My dad, Eugene Kucha.  He was fluent in seven languages and lived in many different countries.  He taught me how important it is to look at things from different perspectives.

What is your proudest accomplishment?

Breaking into the NYC student housing market.  It’s a real estate sector that has high barriers to entry consisting of complicated deal structures and negotiating with slow moving institutions.  I have represented over a handful of schools over the years and provided them with solutions to their student housing needs.

What’s one thing nobody knows about you?

I played Division I college soccer at University of Wisconsin Madison.  My senior year we missed making the NCAA playoffs by one slot.  Ouch!

If you had a special power, what would it be?

To go back into time and walk the streets of Manhattan back in the early 1900’s.  To see what life was like back then and how much the City has progressed.
