Lucy Christensen is Capalino’s Head of Data Strategy & Compliance and has years of experience successfully navigating the complicated New York City and State regulatory landscapes. Lucy is the in-house expert on New York City and state lobbying regulations. She assures that the company operates at the highest level of professional integrity as it provides top notch services to clients.
Prior to joining the Capalino team, Lucy served as the Vice President on the Minority/Women/Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (M/W/DBE) team at the New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC). She oversaw compliance for over 700 projects, was the team lead for public policy, and she designed and implemented critical capacity-building programs to help these businesses succeed in New York City. She also served as an equity advisor for economic development projects across multiple sectors (including construction, life sciences, offshore wind, cannabis, and real estate development) and the city’s economic recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic, providing expert guidance on how to maximize racial and gender equity.
Before her tenure at NYCEDC, she was the Special Projects Associate to the President/CEO at Planned Parenthood Hudson Peconic for four years. Among her accomplishments in this role, she created a real estate development plan for the opening, closing, and reorganization of health centers in the Hudson Valley and Long Island regions of New York. In addition, she oversaw the organization’s national accreditation and conducted the data collection and analysis of the patient census.
She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Spanish, and International Relations from Bucknell University and her Master’s in Public Administration in Policy Analysis and Evaluation from the Marxe School of Public and International Affairs at Baruch College.
In her spare time she is an avid reader and is on a quest to read a biography on every president!
