Capalino Insider: Q&A with Lindsay Marks, Executive Assistant

Lindsay Marks, Executive Assistant, Capalino

What do you specialize in at Capalino?
I have my hands in a little bit of everything. In addition to being the Executive Assistant (AKA, righthand woman) to Jim Capalino, the firm’s CEO, I keep the office running day-to-day and manage the firm’s vendor contracts. I’ve recently had a bigger role in the marketing side of the business, including preparing all of the proposals that are sent to potential clients.

What is your favorite place in NYC?
Gantry Plaza State Park in Long Island City. When living in Astoria, my husband, son and I would frequent the park on nice days, and I would always be in awe of its state-of-the-art facilities and views.

What is your proudest accomplishment?
My three children: my son (6) and daughters (5 and 2). Seeing their excitement for each day and the new things they learn along the way shows me that I am doing things right as a mother.

What’s the biggest thing that excites you about coming to work every day?
The people. We are such a tight-knit group, and I really do see them all as more of a family rather than just colleagues.

What’s one thing nobody knows about you?
I’m deathly afraid of snakes.
