Capalino Insider: Marcus Belfrey, Project Analyst, MWBE

Marcus Belfrey, Project Analyst, MWBE, Capalino

What do you specialize in at Capalino?

As the Project Analyst for the MWBE Consulting Group, I help our clients get certified with the City and State as a MWBE (which stands for Minority and Women-Owned Business Enterprise). I also work to introduce them to opportunities that they might have missed and give instruction on how to proceed once certified.

What is your favorite thing to do in NYC?

So many options! I have a special spot in Brooklyn Bridge Park where I like to hang on the weekends for a picnic. There is Coney Island (for thrills), Double Down Saloon (for group therapy), Alamo Draft House (for movies), Oh! Dumplings (for sustenance), Midtown Comics (for literature), and finally my couch (for HBO, FX, TNT, AMC, Comedy Central, etc)

What is your proudest accomplishment?

Living in New York. Growing up, my family didn’t travel much and I always dreamt about living here.  I blame “The Muppets Take Manhattan”.

What’s the biggest thing that excites you about coming to work every day?

Pastries after an early morning meeting

What is your favorite book to read?

“A Confederacy of Dunces” by John Kennedy O’Toole. Not just the story in the book, but the story behind the book getting published.  Nothing says love like that (look it up, it’s amazing)

If you could have any other job, what would it be?

Writing and developing horror movies
