Kristin Palmason
Vice President of Compliance
Since joining Capalino in 2014, Kristin has been responsible for ensuring our firm’s regulatory compliance with the Lobbying Bureau of the Office of the New York City Clerk and the New York State Joint Commission on Public Ethics (JCOPE). Her expertise in due diligence, contract preparation and data management have been invaluable to our team. As the City and State continue to refine lobbying laws and requirements, Kristin is a source of support for our clients, guiding them through their own reporting obligations.

Safeena Mecklai
Associate Vice President
Safeena brings to our team years of experience in millennial engagement, digital organizing and community activism. At Capalino, Safeena consistently leverages her knowledge of NYC, digital strategy and community mobilization to assist clients with increasing both their social impact and their effectiveness. Since joining the firm as a Coro Fellow, and then full-time employee, Safeena has become an instrumental part of our team.
Prior to joining Capalino, Safeena served as the chief lobbyist for the University of California, Berkeley student body. In her role, she led a team in a city-wide redistricting campaign that created the nation’s first “student district,” and launched the California Public Higher Education Caucus, a Congressional caucus that advocates for California’s public higher education system at the Federal level.
In addition to being an integral part of our CSR and MWBE practices, Safeena also leads the team responsible for the development of digital media strategies that help our clients achieve their political, business, and community mobilization goals.
