Capalino Helps Governors Ball Implement Corporate Social Responsibility Agenda
Corporate Social Responsibility Initiatives Give Premier Musical Festival a Competitive Edge in NYC
Since 2014, Capalino worked with Founders Entertainment to launch a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) agenda around Governors Ball, NYC’s premier music festival that takes place on Randall’s Island every summer. With our in-depth knowledge of New York City and strong working relationships with government and community leaders, Capalino’s CSR team helped implement a series of community-oriented activities, public and private partnerships, charitable giving and volunteer events that provided opportunities to many vulnerable NYC communities and set the standard for music festivals and concerts everywhere to give back.
These Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives include: creating festival jobs for residents and community members; providing funding and in-kind support for youth programs and workforce development programs; supporting local economic activity by inviting local food vendors to sell their products; prioritizing minimizing waste and caring for the environment; partnering with local soup kitchens and pantry programs, as well as Food Bank for New York City, NY Common Pantry and The Salvation Army to fight hunger and improve the lives of New Yorkers in need; offering free tickets to volunteers, and more.
“From the New York Policy and Fire Widows’ and Children’s Benefit Fund to Union Settlement to the Mayor’s Fund, the Governors Ball’s philanthropic initiatives have touched New Yorkers all over the city,” said Mayor Bill de Blasio.
Through their Corporate Social Responsibility efforts, Governors Ball has proven its deep commitment to the residents of New York City. Their high-quality programming has been a resounding success and example of community pride. The festival isn’t just good for the artists and attendees, but also for the neighborhood that hosts them.
Governors Ball success is due in many ways to its strong reputation as a good corporate citizen. Its commitment to serving the surrounding community is what gives them a competitive edge in the New York market where many events are vying for attention. Since Governors Ball launched in 2011, it has grown it into a top destination for music-lovers nationwide. As a result, Founders has become the premier entertainment company in NYC. Earlier this year they were acquired by Live Nation—the global leader in music and live events.
Capalino is proud to help Governors Ball secure its reputation as New York City’s leading music festival that supports the local community as well as great music. Founders Entertainment proves New Yorkers can give back and have a great time.
